Last year the 1st Married Couples Tournament was played and I took part with my husband Kanketsu Rin 7-dan. Somehow we were able to win our way through the first rounds and were now in the final. Our opponents were the Mimura couple. We had played a few practice games in advance and our aim was to play calmly.
However, early in the game, with White 34, I played a dubious move. (I should have blocked to the right of 34.) The position became tough for us, and in the middle game we had to play patiently.
Tomoyasu Mimura 9-dan's 91st move was a sharp move; in reply, Kanketsu Rin 7-dan's 92nd move was a painstaking move. The game was bad for us, but the position remained difficult.
Black's moves from 129 on seemed to be too tight. White's position at the top became thick and the game become close.
A perilous fight started from Black 149. When we got to switch to the centre with 170, the game seemed to turn in our favour. At the end, we tried to capture a big group because we thought we were behind, but apparently we were already a little bit ahead.

In content, this game was tough for us for the large part of the game, but winning the tournament as a couple is a very good memory for us.
