Burzo Gheorghe Cornel was born in 1980 in Bistrita Nasaud, Romania. He became fascinated with the game of Go during his early years in high school. In 1994 he joined the Baia Mare Go club, and became an amateur shodan in 1997 after winning the Romanian Youth Championship. In 2000 he became a European 5 dan and is aspiring to become a professional Go player. He was promoted to 6 dan after winning 3rd place in the European Go Championship, held in St. Petersburg, Russia, during the summer of 2003. Burzo Cornel is experienced teaching Go both online and offline. He is giving online Go instruction on IGS by appointment. Online Go lessons consists of even or handicap games followed by commentary using the teach command on IGS. The commentary includes a disussion of variations at all stages of the game, as well as game psychology and philosophy. Also included are commented professional games along with his selected tournament games. As he is currently living in Transylvania, his preferred schedule for online instruction is 9:00AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday, Transylvania time (GMT plus two (2) hours), but his times are flexible.
