In order to use this applet, you will need to download the plug-in
for java. This allows all of the different types of browsers to
run the same java environment. Under netscape, it will prompt you
to download the plug-in. MSIE will simply download it for you.
Downloading of the plugin only happens once and is Sun's fix
(for lack of a better term) for all of the different java environments.
Although it is inconvenient to download, it only happens once
and is much better than downloading netscape 4.0.5
preview release 1 (1.1.5 awt) at 13 megs.
The plug-in will work with any of the java applets requiring it.
This is the suggested way to run applets from Sun, the creator of Java.
- Please login using your IGS account.
- You can login as "guest". You can observe other's game, but you cannot
play with others as guest.
- Takes about 60 seconds to get the inital drawing of the client,
takes another 10 or so seconds to get the login screen. This is on
on a 28K modem.
- This is under beta test now. We recommend to download other IGS
clients if you want to enjoy all features of IGS.
