Beijing International Convention Center - Tournament Format
- Events : Men's Team, Women's Individual and Pair Go.
Players : 30 players ( 18 male players and 12 female players ) from Japan, China, Korea, Chinese Taipei, Europe and North America will participate in the game, the allocation of quotas is as follows :
1) Japan, China, Korea and Chinese Taipei : 3 male players and 2 female players
2) Europe : 3 male players and 3 female players
3) North America : 3 male players and 1 female player
Competition Methods :
1) Chinese Weiqi rules will be adopted, with black giving 3 and 3/4 stones.
2) Men's team : There are 6 teams and each one has 3 players. Single Round Robin system will be applied with a total of 5 rounds. The time allowance is 2 hours per player, followed by 5 renewable 60-seconds overtime periods.
3) Women's Individual : There are 12 players. Double Knock-out system will be applied with a total of 7 rounds. The time allowance is 1 hour per player, followed by 3 renewable 30-seconds overtime periods. The top 4 teams in the 1st edition team event are allowed to have one player receiving a bye in first round. Players' will be matched according to numbers determined by drawing during the Technical Meeting before the competition starts. Players from same the country or region may be matched against each other except in the 1st round.
4) Pair Go : 8 pairs ( 4 from Asia, 3 from Europe, 1 from North America ), single Knock-out system wiii be applied, with a total of 3 rounds. The time allowance is 1 hour per player, followed by 3 renewable 30-seconds overtime periods. - Schedule December, 2014 * CST=Chinese Standard Time * ()= GMT
