2. Understanding Game Endings

Being able to determine whether a game has ended is very important for learning how to play Go. Starting with problems near the end of the game on a 5×5 board, you will gradually learn to recognize the end of the game all the way up to a 19×19 board. Progress step by step from smaller boards and aim to fully understand game endings on a 19×19 board.

3. Practice Games from the Opening and Middle Game

As you make progress in reviewing the basics and understanding game endings, start playing from positions in the opening and middle game with fewer stones. Begin with middle game positions, and once you can play competitive games, gradually reduce the number of stones and try playing from the opening. When you become comfortable playing from the opening, challenge yourself to practice games from the very first move against Go AI robots.
